I’m a music junkie. I want to be listening to it as much as I can. That’s why I love Breakfader. I don’t have to sacrifice time spent listening to music because when I’m wearing their glasses, I can do it all the time. This is what I love to listen when I have my Breakfader glasses on:
“ocean eyes” by Billie Eilish
I’m a sucker for “ocean eyes.” Eilish’s sultry smooth voice over the prominent beat is the perfect juxtaposition. I could listen to this song anytime of the day, but it’s a perfect transition from the silence of the morning to a playlist to get me energized. And it sounds better through the glasses because I feel surrounded by the song.
“breadwinner” by Kacey Musgraves
I turn on Kacey Musgraves any time I want to make something mundane more exciting. Washing dishes, doing the laundry, cleaning - Musgraves is what gets me through. Her album Golden Hour is a no-skips, infallible record, and her follow up, star-crossed, is a close second. If I need a little motivation, I let the hidden angst in “breadwinner” speak to me.
“Where Is The Love?” by the Black Eyed Peas
Where Is The Love?” by the Black Eyed Peas is a classic modern pop song, and even though it’s calling out all of the evil behaviors in the world that are unfortunately just as relevant today, it always strangely makes me feel better. When I’m searching for some peace, this is a go-to song.
“Team” by Lorde
Anytime I hear Lorde’s haunting voice, I get excited, especially when it’s a cappella followed by big harmonies and one of the catchiest beats and pop music. There’s no activity that can’t be improved by listening to “Team,” and there’s something about hearing it around me with my glasses on rather than directly in my ears that makes it far more satisfying.
“Slide Away” by Miley Cyrus
“Slide Away'' by Miley Cyrus is one of the songs I turn on when I need to feel everything. Even though it’s about a breakup, it’s perfect for sorting out emotions no matter the situation. It’s mesmerizing and beautiful, and the lyrics masterfully match the melody. When I just need to sulk, or wring out my feelings through music, I opt for this ballad.
“Shivers” by Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran has the soundtrack for, well, everything. And since he released “Shivers,” I’ve listened to it just about every day. I love to have it on when I’m getting ready, because it makes me feel confident and excited for what’s to come.
“One Right Now” by Post Malone (with The Weeknd)
There was no way a collaboration between Post Malone and The Weeknd could’ve gone awry, and “One Right Now” is one of the best joint efforts of the past five years. Whether I’m driving, chopping vegetables for supper, or I’m just in the mood to listen to some music, this song is playing through my Breakfader glasses.
